The majority of the proposed garden village area is the former Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) site located on both sides of the M3 motorway, as well as the Longcross Barracks site. This site was formerly used as the British Army vehicle testing base and this history has helped to inform the masterplan.
Longcross has a rich history of different uses, but is now redundant. The proposals for Longcross Garden Village will once again make it a vibrant and clearly identifiable place, whilst providing a host of benefits to existing and surrounding residents.
Crest Nicholson and Aviva are working together to bring forward both Upper Longcross and Longcross South as part of one comprehensive masterplan which will make the most of the site’s natural benefits.
